In the second CemNet Newsroom item on Dangote Cement on 21st March 2018 Tanzania’s Trade and Investment minister said that “Dangote is a game changer. They use the market penetration strategy. The approach is to manufacture more and distribute large quantities of cement countrywide.”
Whitehopleman supposes Dangote has no other option than market penetration having built a 2 million tonne (plus) cement plant in a remote part of southern Tanzania. Those volumes will not be consumed in the Mtwara region for many years.
