Two prominent mentions of Dangote Cement on CemNet Newsroom on 21st March 2018. Unaudited results for the full-year 2017 period apparently show a 31 per cent YoY increase in revenue. Nigerian volumes were lower in 2017, but pan-African operations increased volumes by 8.4 per cent and now make up 42 per cent of the Group’s total cement sales, demonstrating the robust diversification of the Dangote cement business. Nigeria still contributes around 70% of the revenue.
In 2017 Dangote expanded their footprint from eight countries to ten with the opening of new facilities in the Republic of Congo and Sierra Leone, while their operations in Cameroon, Senegal and Ethiopia achieved strong sales growth during the year. Total sales volumes of nearly 22Mt of cement.
Whitehopleman has a very long-standing relationship with Dangote Cement stretching back to the early noughties when the first FLSmidth lines were being constructed at Obajana in Nigeria.
