In November 2011 Whitehopleman were retained by Derba Midroc Cement to provide two 2-week intensive training programmes in cement manufacturing technology for the staff of their newly constructed cement factory at Derba in Ethiopia.

The first of those two-week training programmes took place in March 2012, when 67 newly recruited engineers and chemists were inducted in cement manufacturing technology.

The second programme took place in the middle of May 2012.
