As can be seem from the bar chart there is a vast range of cement company sizes in terms of their latest annual sales revenues. CRH had sales revenues of over 35 billion dollars in 2024. At the other end of the scale cement companies in Africa such as Les Ciments de Bizerte or East African Portland Cement had annual sales revenues of less than 25 million dollars equivalent in 2024.

There are clearly challenges when comparing cement company financial performance across such a wide spectrum of cement company size and scale. Some aspects of financial performance can be compared irrespective of the company’s size and scale, but it also makes sense to compare the financial performance of cement companies of similar size and scale.
